Seattle Artist Angie Hanna

Angie is a Pacific Northwest native, and has always been influenced by the interplay among color, texture, shape and scale as she encounters it in her daily life in the Seattle area and in her travels, especially contrasting tropical locales. She has found abstract expression to be the most satisfying way to convey her impressions, and those who enjoy her work remark upon its vibrancy, balance, and directness.

Angie's work is intended to connect her with the individual viewer, just as Angie has sought compassionate connection in her professional life as an occupational therapist serving primarily a pediatric and youth population.

She is mom to a young son, and his joyful daily discovery also greatly inspires and informs her work - and of course he is her toughest critic.

Her home studio faces north and west. She believes the light helps her make paintings that feel especially connected to and reflective of the region she calls home, even if her original inspiration came from other sources.
